Q. Login trouble

Hello!

I'm an avid user of the library's off-campus database resources and am
currently trying to complete an academic genealogy project for one of my
classes. My problem is that I cannot log in to the system. It is acting as
though I have forgotten my password, although I know that I have not.

I went to MyGate and changed my network password to see if this would
appease the angry database deities, but I'm still unable to get in. I've
locked myself out for an hour due to my numerous attempts to get in and do
some reserach, but I'm worried that I still won't be able to get in after
my hour is up. A bit of assistance would be much appreciated.

Answer

The database dieties require sacrfice (also known as doing repetitive, inconvenient tasks).  Try changing each of your passwords individually on myGate, then create one password to rule (consolidate) them all.  It's strange, but sometimes it will fix the problem.  If not, unfortunately I can only direct you to the help desk (at (270) 809-2346).
