Q. What kinds of items can I request through Interlibrary Loan / ILLiad / ILL and how would I place a request?

Answer

You can request almost any kind of material through Interlibrary Loan. This includes Books, CDs, DVDs, Musical Scores, and Articles. You will only need to request an item through Interlibrary Loan using ILLiad if we do not have the item. If you are searching in a database or WorldCat and you see the yellow "Get it @ MSU" button, click on it. This will show you that the full text of the item is either available in another database or it will provide you with a link to request the item through Interlibrary Loan. Click on the link. If you clicked to request the item through interlibrary loan, and you have never used ILLiad before, please click on the "First Time Users" link below the log-in box and fill out the registration form. Then you can request items to borrow. Now when you click on the "Get it @ MSU" button and login to ILLiad the request form should autofill for you. If it does not, you may have to manually fill in some of the required fields to complete the request. If you know that we do not own an item and you would prefer to enter the request manually, you can go directly to ILLiad (https://murraystate.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/logon.html) and place the request.
